I too, like many others feel like this company is intentionally shipping items ordered in many different shipments to up their profits. It's either that or they have shipping staff that could care less, not sure at this point!

I ordered approximately 68.00 worth of product and paid slightly more than half that for the shipping in four different shipments. This all happened after I received an email that all items but one would be shipped at the same time.

I previously ordered many items from LTD in the early 2000's and they would always give us shipping quote so we could send the full amount owed when ordering.

Now they use this lame brained excuse that they cannot calculate shipping charges in advance due to weight, size, and destination differences??? This makes no sense when they were able to do these calculations when I first started ordering from them.

I do much internet shopping and this is the only company I know of that has this ridiculous shipping policy--it is for their own good not the consumers. With that said I will not order any more from LTD unless they change this and make me (consumer) aware of exact shipping charges when ordering their product.

I like many of their products but intend to protect where I am spending money needlessly. There are just too many businesses out there that will offer free or discounted shipping for good standing repeat customers, I will go there.

I'm sorry to hear about the bad experience you've had with LTD Commodities. Although your blog states we have previously provided shipping quotes, we have never quoted shipping charges prior to shipping out merchandise. Perhaps you are confusing us with someone else? I do, however, want to work with you on the shipping costs you've referred to.

Please address the shipping problem within to stop this kind of complaint!

I assure you I'm not confused about my previous dealings with LTD. I do wonder why the issue of providing the paying customers with a shipping quote is such a problem since every other business in America does so. “Why don't you address that particular problem with an answer in these responses you write to the many people that continue to be ripped-off with this sort of shipping policy?”

There is a very simple way to ensure customers will keep coming back, just change the shipping policy so individuals like me know exactly what the cost will be. Why do you insist that we write to you to figure out a solution when the solution is as plain as the nose on your face! If I were in business and had this type of complaint over and over again, I would get a clue as to why and make changes to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.

I went back over my invoices and there were 5 shipments (my mistake in the first post I stated four) for eight items. Only one of those items was big enough to be shipped alone and another was on back order so I could completely understand three shipments at the most for the items I ordered. Five shipments is extreme since the rest of the items could have been shipped together.

Regardless of how the customer feels about this sort of shipping scheme I do not expect LTD to change shipping policy so I will from here on out consider myself an ex-customer and will not recommend this service to anyone else as I was previously doing.

Same happened to me...

I've been ordering from LTD/ABC for many years. I love th products they have, and as far as PRICE is concerned, you definitely get a better deal than buying them in a store (or on TV).

The shipping has always been an issue. Sometimes it's reasonable, other times they straight-up gouge you.

We have several people in my office that order from LTD on a regular basis. Just last week, we got an order in (approximately 10-12 items) and it was all received the SAME DAY, in FOUR separate boxes. Now, mind you -- these were small items and could have EASILY fit into one of their bigger boxes that I've seen them ship items in. However, they decided to break the shipment up into four small (maybe 8" x 8" x 4") boxes, and the shipping on each was around $6.00 each.

Insane. It pisses you off when you realize that you didn't get ANY kind of deal on the item because the shipping was almost as much as the item.

Just return the items

Return the items marked "Refused, return to sender" that way the items get shipped back and credited to your account and you are not responsible for the shipping fees. If you continue to do business with them then you have no right to gripe about the shipping costs.
