    Corporate Advocacy Program
Around the 30th of October I received a phone call from a company referring to themselves as Platinum Advantage. It was a male caller, I can't remember his name. He introduced himself and said I had been accepted for a credit card (he specifically stated credit card) for a 2500.00 credit line.
That for a short time they would be willing to waive the fees, and lets get started. He then launched into asking all of my information. He went so fast I didn't even really get time to think.
I felt a bit pushed at one point so I asked him a question about fees, and he said "Weren't you listening?" and launched back into the same thing about fees, I said I'm sorry I want to know more, and he said, "We are giving you this great opportunity to fix your credit, but if you are dissatisfied with the services you can cancel." He was very condesending and I was so taken aback that I actually went along with him.
They are supposed to withdraw the money on the 14th but I don't and won't have it (not that I would give it anyway now that I know it's a scam). I have called them at 877-488-8084 numerous times and get a machine. I finally left a message but am dubious as to whether they will respond.
I also got on their website and sent them an email suggesting that it is in their best legal interest to contact me before attempting to withdraw the non-existant funds. I hope I get a response. I have also contacting my bank, but I don't want to keep the account because the numbers are now compromised....
More then anything I feel really stupid, I can't believe I felt for it, they are good at what they do, they make you feel small and go as fast as possible, so you go with it, and don't ask questions.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Did you give them your Debit card or your checking info?

AUTHOR: Raven - Riverside (U.S.A.)

If you gave them your debit card number you could alway just cancel that card and order a new one. If you gave them your bank account routing and account number, notify the bank and tell them not to honor the withdrawal. Just a thought
