I did search with web detective during the free trial, I thought I canceled the membership immediately, whatever I will chalk those charges up as a loss, my complaint is about something I did not authorize from this company, The Privacy Chest.

I did not authorize them to withdraw money for this service. When contacting this company, they claim the sent an email confirmation that I signed up for this membership, which I never received, they claim they also sent me a newsletter via first class mail, which is where the instructions supposedly are to cancel this membership, also which I never received, they said maybe the email was in my "junk mail", I went through my "junk mail" also never received, and only have a confirmation I found was for the web detective for 39.95. I have no idea what this purchase is or service is from Privacy Chest that I did not authorize to my account.

As soon as I goggled Privacy Chest I saw a lot of rip off reports and complaints about this company, I also went to the Better Business Bureau and saw they have an unsatisfactory record. Of course when I called, the only human being I was able to talk to was the people who could cancel the membership, but how convenient there is not a person you can talk to about billing, you can only leave a message or you can send an email, yeah like anything is going to be resolved via email with this company.

How is someone supposed to cancel a membership they never knew they had? I know I will most likely not receive my money back after reading all the horror stories people have been going through with this company, but I would like to. I would also like to see something done to the manipulating fraudulent company.
