Rent A Center Never got back $3,000 dollar deposit for a rented TV, they required a deposit since I was not local Carson City Nevada

I was staying in South Lake Tahoe for two months. I rented a TV from Carson City Rent A Center. Because I was not local, had a out of state address and was staying

at a hotel they required a $3,000 dollar deposit. They said I would get the full deposit amount back when the TV came back the way it went out. I charged it on a credit card and paid for my rental time. They dropped and picked the TV up. They said they would put the deposit money back onto my card. I went home. A week later they call and ask if I was still in the area, I tell them No I went home like planned. They said they changed credit card machines in the two month time I had the TV and my credit card info was gone, and they need to swipe my card to refund the money. I asked why they did not say anything when they picked up the TV while I was still in the area. They said they didn't know the info was lost until then. So I say mail me a check, they say OK. I wait nothing. I called and talked to a head manger, he said a check was on its way. I wait still nothing. I call back, again its in the mail. I wait still nothing. My girlfriend called they told her the store paid headquarters and they are sending the check. Still nothing. My rental dates were Jan to march It is now Sept and they still have not paid me my $3,000 Since when is OK to steal from people??? I have been paying my credit card company finance charges on that $3,000 since then. Not only that it has my card at a high balance. So it has affected my credit score. They should have to pay for all my finance charges from march 15th until now.

deposit not kept in card machine!!

Every night the STORE batches out their credit card machine and subtracts the money from the TOTAL OF THE DAY! If your money is over, you need to find out why. Now most places run the card and put the deposit money in the safe OR they apply your payment in the system (put it into an electronic deposit). Its not lost... and its not the COMPANYs fault. The EMPLOYEE is at fault and more than likely spent your deposit. Take the employee to court.

Sue the company.

The employee was an AGENT of the company, therefore it is easier and probably more successful to sue the COMPANY.

There is no reason for the customer to go after an individual employee.

WHOA PEOPLE A DEPOSIT OF THAT AMOUNT IS REQUIRED UNDER RENTACENTER POLICY UNDER THIS CIRCUMSTANCEM AND FOR THIS RENTAL, HOWEVER IT IS FULLY REFUNDABLE IF THE TV WAS RETURNED IN THE CONDITION THAT IT WENT OUT IN. IS TRUE OUR CREDIT CARD SYSTEMS HAVE CHANGED BUT GETTING YOUR DEPOSIT BACK SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE, CONTACT THE MANAGER 1ST, THEN ASKED FOR THE DM IF YOUR NOT SATISFIED, WE HAVE NO REASON TO TAKE YOUR MONEY AND WE DON'T
