Safeway Rewards And Trust Inc. beware of the five thousand dallor check. my parents recieve a check for $5000 was told to keep it confidental and send half of it to a tax agent by money order Toronto Ontario

My parents recieved a check for $4,875. Saying they were winners of LOTTO NORTH AMERICAN SWEEPSTAKES LOTTERY. They were entitled to $125,000. us dallors.
In the letter they were told to keep it CONFIDENTAL, but to contact them before cashing it. They were also told to send $2875 to a tax agent by money gram or by western union.

We noticed there were 2 different addresses they gave. One on the letter was in Canada. The one on the check was in Illinois. We went online to see if there was anything about this being a scam. There is we are not the only ones to get this letter. isn't there a law against this yet. Things like this should not be happening.
