UCB some how found my Aunt and Uncles home phone number and called at home looking for me. My uncle was outraged by this and told them never to call him again since his home was not my home and he will report them to the BBB. I have reported them as well to the BBB. This is a violation of my privacy!!!

Yeah they are not supposed to call other family members regarding your debt. They are in serious violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This law clearly defines the methods a collector can use to obtain payment of an obligation. If an agency violates these guidelines, YOU have legal right to sue the agency for damages. Contacting debtors at hours before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m. is considered harassment. It is also considered as harassment if a collection agency calls you at your place of employment after 8pm. It is illegal for them to contact your friends, family and neighbors for purposes of collecting an overdue debt. They must not contact you or anyone else if requested not to do so in writing. If you suspect an agency of harassment, it is wise to keep all communications in writing, particularly if you are requesting that they cease their harassing tactics. Write them a letter asking them to not call you oh and make sure you read the fair credit reporting act as well.
