On May 14, 2007 I purchased a “Refurbished” Pantech C300 Cell Phone from ‘Blue Bay Electronics' using Google Checkout. It was Order number 10016972, and cost $74.95 for the phone and another $29.94 for 2 Day shipping (since my Moto Razr had died and I needed a phone quick for business).
I received the phone and immediately found that the screen was very badly scratched over much of its surface. Additionally, the phone had scarring and damage all over the case (typical of a well-used phone). Finally, the ‘9' key did not work consistently.
I immediately contacted BlueBay and informed them that what I got was not ‘Refurbished' but instead, just plain ‘Used'. I asked for another phone, and for it to be sent to me first, at which time I would return the bad one… this way, I would not be without a phone (especially since I paid $30 in order to get it quickly). They asked for photos, which I sent. They acknowledged that it should not look that way, but then refused to send a phone until I sent them mine first.
I am tired of businesses that make their problems my problems…. Why should I need to go without a phone and pay shipping charges when all I wanted was what they promised in their ad ?!?
I had hoped Google would help, but if you read their terms of service…. They do not warrant the vendors they represent, just broker the deal for profit. They do have some mediation that I will try, but do not expect much.

I had a problem with Blue Bay Electronics, as well. One day while I was searching Yahoo! for them, I found this site that has a bunch of things focusing on the negative side of their company:
http://www.bluebaysucks.com/
Also, on that site they list 5 contact numbers to people that work at Blue Bay Electronics. I thought this may be helpful to anyone else who may be looking to get in contact with them. I've listed them below for easy access:
877-499-6210 Ext. 738 - Connie Lavalais - Wholesale department
877-499-6210 Ext. 455 - Lacey Bunch - Customer service.
877-499-6210 Ext. 731 - Labeled as "Service Phone" and "Sales Phone"
877-499-6210 Ext. 734 - Found in eBay feedback.
877-499-6210 Ext. 735 - Listed on Price.com

Hello... this is the Customer Service Dept. at Blue Bay Electronics.
We're very sorry to hear about the condition of the phone you received. You are right, the refurbished phone should not have looked like that, and we sincerely apologize for the mistake.
Please understand that we need you to send the phone back to us for a replacement. We're unable to send an exchange until we receive that phone back. This is the industry standard for processing exchanges of product purchase via phone/internet, and I think it would be difficult to even find a company that will send you additional product before you return the merchandise. We will even send you a pre-paid UPS return label so you don't have to pay for return charges and we can also overnight your exhcange to you.
We're trying our best to help and provide excellent customer service. You had time to write an article about our company, but you don't have time to return the product with a free return shipping label? I'm sorry, but we can't help unless you return the item.
Please email us at customerservice@bluebayelectronics.com for furthur assistance. You may ask to speak with the manager if you would like.
