I bought it 2-3 months ago and have been sorry for my stupidity. Almost all the time, there are too much static or no connection at all - and I end up using my cell phone. 

Personally, this junk came from probably a "boiler room" type company and their "support" is an equal shamful operation.  I don't think there is solution for Magic Jack's problems and they know it.  They just pretend that these problems can be fixed by removing & reinstalling their program and/or whatever they had me do.  When I ask them (several times over) a simple technical question, they won't answer.  When I ask to be escalated to a supervisor, they tell me that there is no one between the owner and support people.  I have top of the line computer and high speed cable connection. 

Don't waste your money on this junk.

Magic Jack working great for me.

I have been using MagicJack for about 4 months now and am very pleased.  My sister, mother, brother-in-law, and several friends also use Magic Jack and it works great!

One thing you have to be aware of with Magic Jack is that it is also dependent on your internet connection and the speed/power of your computer.  We have cable high-speed internet and a brand new computer and all is good.  My brother-in-law had it hooked up to an older computer for a while and did have problems, but as soon as he hooked it up to his new computer, it's been working like a charm.

It does have a conflict with Windows Media Player on my system, so I just unplug Magic Jack when I need to burn CD's.  But for $19.95/year vs. $50/mo for my cable phone, it's totally worth that little bit of a hassle.

THEY ARE SO BAD THAT THEY HAVE BEEN SAYING SINCE EARLY 2008 THAT THEY WOULD HAVE NUMBER PORTIBILITY AND IT IS 2009 COMMING UP ON 2010 AND STILL NO IDEA WHEN THEY WILL OFFER IT. I PLACED A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS WITH THE FCC AND THE TURNED MY DADS SERVUCE OFF. WHAT CHICKENS
