I purchased a "open box" Panasonic SCDP1 combination AM/FM Stereo & DVD player from CIRCUIT CITY and was assured that the unit was an OK "display" unit and that it carried the full 1 year PANASONIC warranty. Near the end of the factory warranty the unit malfunctioned and when I returned it to CIRCUIT CITY the ultimate run-around began. Take the unit clear accross town to the authorized PANASONIC repair center and they will take care of the problem. The repair center said they would repair the unit or have PANSONIC refund my purchase price indicated on my sales receipt. A month later i had heard nothing and when I phoned to ask about the status of the unit I was told by the secretary they would get back to me later. After waiting a whole lot later I drove to the location and got nose to nose with the secretary who said that the repair man was out and would call me tomorrow. The phone call I got back was anything less than helpful. Mr. repair man said that the unit had "internal' damages and not covered by warranty....but I can repair it for $75.00 if I would like it fixed. Contacting CIRCUIT CITY was of no use and they denied that the unit was mishandled when it was on display. The endless finger pointing by these two organizations will help readers of this rant decide where NOT to shop or what BRAND to trust. Cheat me once shame on you ....let me buy from you again....shame on me.

Wow, It never ceases to amaze me the stupidity of some people. Do you know any company that will let you return a product almost a year after you bought it? Yeah me either. Your blame here is on Panasonic, not on Circuit City.
