I have not had much experience with Jet Set... only heard from models and moms of children who left there.  I heard there were some negative events and a situation with payment.

I actually took my children to Zuri upon a recommendation of a former Jet Set model and a neighbor who has a son there.  I have had none of the problems listed with Zuri, nor have any other people I know.  As a Zuri Mom I work with a LOT of other Zuri Talent on jobs.  Contrary to this report no one has a bad thing to say about Lindsay or their experience, in fact it is quite the opposite.

My personal experiences lead me to believe that this report came from someone scorned by Jet Set and is linking Zuri because Lindsay is a former agent.  This is unfortunate and truly sad.  I have never had a problem with payments and the agents go out of their way to help me and accommodate my schedule.

Some of the parents I know left their prior agency followed Lindsay when her company was brand new because they trusted her reputation and know that she treats us like family.  Zuri is a great family and has a lot of clients in major movies, tv series, and ad campaigns.  I can honestly say that I am glad to have found an agency that knows my name... Im not just another model Mom.  They treat me like family and care about my kids.

Anyway, I just think that people should think again before trusting a bitter blog, talk to people in the industry... photographers, even casting directors and friends as I did. 

If I had read this before and not gone to Zuri I would have missed out on more than a great agency for my kids...  I would have missed out on a "family" that I have grown to care about.  I know the industry can be a scary place but it puts my mind at ease knowing that the agency representing my children has their best interest at heart.

I am responding to the two previous posts above.  I have been with Jetset since 2005 and just recently left them for reasons I am about to share.  Jetset USED to be a respectable business whose agents were able to get their talent jobs (and at a decent rate).  Not only that, models were paid for the work they performed; even if it took a little time.  This was until the company was sold and new agents brought in just recently.  They are  a poorly managed, poorly owned company who does not care about or pay their models.

Top reasons why you should NOT work for Jetset World LLC:

1.  They do not pay. I am currently filing with the California labor commissioner to seek payments from all work performed in 2009.  I have continually had to waste my time trying to get my money.

2.  They do not have an office. Just recently Jetset World llc closed all its physical office locations. I believe this was an attempt to limit their liability and to make it more difficult for their talent to receive money owed.

3.  They do not respond to accounting messages or phone calls. In an attempt to eliminate accounting related problems Jetset has cleverly designed a system which eliminates all contact with agents.  Any accounting related problems are to be directed to emily@jetsetaccounting.com which simply replies back with an automated message providing an address where they can be reached.  This address is a PO box in Newport which was away from their office locations when they had them.  Agents, specifically Paloma, will reply back with a 'sorry, I can't help you."

4.  They will not get you work. I went from having semi/consistent work in 2009, to absolutely no work performed under the new ownership.

5. They do not care. A few dozen emails to company individuals, including several to the owner Nick (nick@jetsetmodels.com) have yielded no response.  Jetset does not care and does not communicate with their models unless it concerns making them money.

In reply to the second post, yes for the most part Jetset was a respectable business who was able to get their models work and paid them in a semi-timely manner under previous ownership.  However, this has all drastically changed.  All individuals I did know from the the time period from 05-09 have left and sought out new representation.  This is just a simple warning from what I am actually experiencing right now.  Talk to individuals who were previously working with Jetset, and you will see for yourself that these things have and are happening.

My child was with Jet Set Models for a brief amount of time. However we do not have any experience with payment since he had not begun working.  I can say I have been told by mothers of children with Jet Set that Jet Set is VERY slow to pay and they (the moms) often have to call and ask for payment. When Lindsay was there, she was an agent..NOT in charge of paying clients.  From what I have heard (through the grapevine, not Lindsay)  one of the reasons she left is because her clients were not being paid (on time).

When Lindsay left Jet Set, we chose to follow her to the agency she started, Zuri Model and Talent, as did many other of her clients from Jet Set.  Lindsay has been my child's agent now for about 5+ years now.  She is an excellent agent who is a pleasure to work with.  My child has always been paid, in a timely manner, for all of his work.  I happily and confidently recommend Zuri Model and Talent to anyone interested in getting their child into modeling or commercials.
