I am quite upset, as it has been a few years now that this had happened to me. My mother is a single parent, and is struggling to give me the appropriate necessities of life.

I came across Max Agency when i went to Downsview Park for Canada Day 2006. I signed a ballot and a few months later i received a call from them. My mother had disapproved and refused to let me be apart of it, but i had to beg her and she gave in. First of all, when reading the contract there was nothing that said money was to be paid.

When i did eventually hop on board this agency they told my mother that we had to pay to join, pay for the photographs being taken, pay to order the prints, then pay again to order the ones that we chose. My mother coughed up money for me, as i was underage at that point and i feel guilty after these few years.

The agency came up with a new policy to always email them before every Friday to inform them of any upcoming activities in the week, to see if im available or not in case of an interview. One week i emailed them informing them that I would be away on vacation for 3 weeks and that i had no access of a computer where i was going. They replied saying that it was ok. Surprisingly after not replying to them due to my vacation, i was wrongfully dismissed, and there was no compensation of my money whatsoever.

This had caused my mother to not speak to me for quite sometime and it still continues to this day. I am very upset and i would still want my mother's money to be compensated as soon as possible!

It is pure luck

AUTHOR: jeremywilson - Ottawa (Canada)

As far as your point goes about you not getting opportunities, I think this is majorly ones luck.

I am not saying you didn't have sufficient looks or talent. Just saying that it didn't click in your case.

I am saying this because I too joined the agency and I too had to go through the trials of struggle. Then jobs started coming by God's grace and I am a happy man today.

I think Jeremy is right here

AUTHOR: annamiller - Toronto (Canada)

I think Jeremy is right here. If you couldn't get any offers, it's your luck and your portfolio that has to be blamed. If you couldn't make it, and others makes it, it is not the agency but you. Keep up trying and work hard on your looks, personality and talent and you can surely get job offers.
