Midwest Models contacted me through exploretalent.com. (exploretalent is another scam, and no I DON'T pay exploretalent, I signed up a long time ago just as a free member - I signed up for the 7 day trial period and they never charged my card or shut off the submission function and my card never got charged but oh well..)
He was replying about my interest in a casting audition... He told me he was a runway coach FROM MIDWEST MODELS. He told me it would be beneficial for me to go, etc. He dropped alot of names like Fashion Bug TJ Maxx etc... All he stated about those companies is that they are real companies that sell clothes not porn... Well DUH - but that doesn't tell me anything about this modeling job...
The IMMEDIATE response made it seem fishy to me... Showbiz is just not that easy.
First - www.modelscams.com - states clearly coaching, training, classes, or schools IS COMPLETELY UNNCESSARY in becoming a model. Alot of reputable agencies and models have written articles on that site.
Second - I'm 5'2"... why would a runway coach be interested in speaking with me ??
Third - He would not answer my question as to what he NEEDED the models for... I asked if you NEED MODELS... what do you NEED them for??? to model the clothes of all the names he dropped ??? He wouldn't answer.
Fourth - the 'CHICAGOLAND FASHION FAIR TOUR' as he called it was being held at Glamour Model agency in Chicago...
He clearly stated that Glamour had nothing to do with this event - they were only being kind in extending their facility to hold this supposed fashion event.
But in actuality I know that Glamour has a deal going with them ... An "agent" or "scout" from Glamour will approach an aspiring model and say "you are so beautiful - we could totally find you work .....IF......" and then the money talks begin !!!!!
Glamour is a known scam artist who profits off of photography... Not modeling commission !!!!!!!
Sincerely, Frances Cornett.
