Dear all honest and professional models&clients:

I just wanted to inform you that promomodels is a scam. They are NOT a professional modeling agency. So-called "Account Executive," Kelly Miller, called me the day before a tradeshow to tell me that I will earn $30/hr for a 6 hour shift. She said the event will be really easy, that the client speaks Egnlish, and where the event is located. She said I could contact her cell phone if I had any questions. She was very responsive for the first day and night before my tradeshow. One mysterious sign, however, was that she claimed that her website was down and that yahoo accounts don't work well for the agency.

On the second day, she did not respond to my text, when I asked her if she validated parking.

Fortunately, the day itself was fine, since the client I worked with was great. They paid for my parking and meals, and also had said this was the first time they worked with Kelly Miller from Promo Models. In fact, they had promised the client over 100 models, and at least 2 for the event, but only I showed up. So, that was another red flag. Also, the client had to pre-pay all the money for booking three days of models, before being able to secure a model. I only worked one day, and I was owed $225, since I ended up working for 7.5 hours of $30/hr. At this point, I had emailed Kelly Miller and had called her to find out how the payment process would work. I have now left her several voicemails and email messages but received no response.

I contacted an attorney and will be sending an initial demand letter and will possibly file a small claims matter. However, if there is already a class action suit against them, since many similarly situated models have been cheated, I would like to add my name to that class action list. Please let me know how I can add my name to that list immediately.

I also contacted the client I worked with and they were very friendly and indicated that Kelly Miller from Promo Models owes them $1000 since they did not receive modeling services for the additional days they booked.

I hope this letter protects all future clients and models and that justice will be done to this horribly unethical, unprofessional group of liars at promomodels.

Good luck to you all!

Hmmm...Interesting!

AUTHOR: unhappy model - (United States of America)

Well isn't this interesting!! I was told over two months ago that kelly no longer works for them! Isn't that interestign that when it's convenient, the staff all of the sudden no longer works fro them so you have no one to contact???

Good luck....I worked in October of 2008 and STILL haven't been paid. Do liek I did and call the client you worked for at your event. Tell them what Promomodels did and tell the client NOT to use them anymore. If you have an agency you really like, refer them to your client so that the client is happy!
