Their agent Linda seems to be very nice, explains how everyone could be a model "Beauty shouldn't be determined by height or weight" blah blah blah but at the end of the conversation you have to pay either for photos or if you have photos then you have to pay to put your pictures online. Garbage don't fall for that.

I joined them in November because they were a new agency I thought I would give them a chance I paid $400 to setup my online account haven't heard from them ever since no audition, no phone call not even an email and whenever I call them they just have one answer they are promoting me. But every day I see their ad on Kijiji and craigslist to hire new models, now if the old ones are not getting anything how can they justify hiring new models?

They are like a modeling slaughter house who ever walks into their office can become a model, they just have to pay. They sell photo shoots, composite cards and even charge to put your pictures on their website.

I don't want anyone else to be scammed by them. Save your money and run away from them. There are better options out there I realized when it is too late.

CoCo copycats, but not quite scam artists

AUTHOR: R12h - Toronto (Canada)

I recently joined CoCo Model management, and although their website is a combination of www.cottoncandymodels.com and www.elitemodels.com, that's about their only crime. I cancelled my contract and received my money back. If you are not satisfied, as long as you have proof of payment, you should be able to receive your money. Give them a call and discuss cancelling your contract.

I agree with the post above.

I was scouted and had an interview with Coco Models. When I went in for the interview, they seemed very nice but gave a lot of the same information other agencies do such as "we cannot promise you work, you have to pay for your online portfolio, etc etc) They wanted a 400 deposit which I found a tad suspicious. Following this, they escorted me out in order to make a decision which I found strange as well. The agent called me back in to tell me that they would love to have me aboard once I put down the deposit. To me, this sounded like they were attempting to make me believe that they were legitimate by making me wait on them.

I thought I would still give the agency a chance. I was ready to deposit the $400 but I had a gut feeling not too. I called last minute and canceled which was definitely the right decision. While on the phone, she was still trying to convince me to come in and to call back if I ever changed my mind.

Realistically, if they were legitimate, they would not deal with a client that canceled last minute like I did, and spent an extra 10-15 minutes trying to convince that client to call them back if they change their mind.

listen up

Listen up all you model wanna be's.

Unless you are a stunning bombshell, you have no chance. ZERO

You have to be tall, thin and beautiful if you want to be a model. If anyone tells you differently they are scamming you.

Legitimate model agencies (FORD, etc) do not charge their models anything up front, in fact they invest in their models because they can make money with them.

That is the way it is

Help!

AUTHOR: mjl037 - (United States of America)

Hi I just paid the money to coco models and I have not gotten any calls from they yet either. Yesterday my mom phoned Victor, the booking agent, and he told her to tell me to come in to see him in a few days. I read that coco models is a scam online but I already got my portfolio pictures taken (which weren't very good and victor suggested a retake them).

I really do not know what to do. I don't want to stay with an agency that may or may not be a scam. Is there someway I can back out of this and not lose everything I paid for? What should I say when I go to see them tomorrow?

Thank you
