John Levey is a prominant Casting Director who is angry about the posted report of Young Actors Camp. He did not write this and promises to take action against the person who posted this in his name. The YAC staff believes this report is written to hurt a guest speaker and not at our actual camp. We plead with the author to provide a rebuttel to explain further or provide proof of wrong-doing.
Please read below if you would like a understanding of what is posted about YAC....
We are not a school. We are a RESIDENTIAL summer camp that provides VERY unique opportunities for those who aspire to learn about the Hollywood film industry. NO OTHER acting camp compares to the activiites we offer. This being said, our prices are very competitive for a Los Angeles based summer program offering room, board and all program activiites.
We are NOT talent managers nor does any word on our website claim that management is a part of our mission. Inspired Talent is not related to our business nor EVER associated with YAC. NO managers or agents have ever been apart of of summer program as staff. No money is exchanged for representing as we do not offer this service.
We provide tours that are NOT free as they do not exist to the public. This is the LEAST of what parents pay for. Our cost our incurred by offering the unique opportunity to work with such huge stars. In order for us to guarantee these celebrity visits we must go into contracts with our special guest, beyond rates that allow us to charge less to our campers.
The only week we ‘sell’ agents, managers and casting is also the week we create websites, headshot session, a actors reel and classes taught by top casting directors. As the kids are in our care, room, board and 24 hour staff is included. This is $900 TOTAL and not the 3 to 5 thousand as you’ve stated. There is no situation in this state that gives an actor those tools for such an affordable price.
In short, currently we PROUDLY tell parents ‘in all of our 11 years of business we have NO COMPLAINTS.’ Industry professionals and parents would not have allowed any company to continue doing the work we do, charging the FAIR rates we charge without voicing factual wrong doings at some point.
Because we are a summer camp, with parents sending their kids to us from all over the world, parents could take this criticisms as fact. Any negative posting, including THIS false report can count heavily when deciding on a summer acting program. We urge you to search beyond this site and learn about our wonderful years of providing quality and exceptional camp experiences for actors!
