1st Florida State Mortgage ripoff! Dishonest, corrupt, insincere! Deerfield Beach Florida

I applied for a mortgage at 1st Florida State Mortage. My initial conversations were with a Gary Tate. I had researched this quite extensively as to rates and locking the note along with closing cost versus other lenders. He assured me that he could lock the note at 5% with very reasonable closing cost. The other lenders were a little higher on rate but could also lock the note. After 40 days I found Gary lied to me and did not lock the note. At this time he told me that he never said he could lock the note.

After 40 days and exhausting my options with this company I went to Frontline Financial and locked my loan and passed papers in about a week or so. At this time I requested compensation for the $75.00 processing fee and a transfer fee of 75.00 dollars for the appraiser from 1st florida. My grounds for requesting this were the fact that Gary lied to me and under the circumstances I thought this was the least they could do. I also requested the difference of the rate I ended up with to the rate I recieved in financial compensation, although realistically I never thought I would recieve this, I thought it was owed to me. The request was refused.

In closing i learned a valuable lesson in dealing with this company get everything in writing. To the point, i know i have lost a substantial amount from this transaction i feel if this gets posted it might save some individuals from encountering the same frustrations and loss that i encounterd. Get it in writing and do not trust any individual at 1st Florida State Mortgage.
