We refinanced with Ameriquest Mortgage. Their fees ended up several thousand dollars more than what they first told us, along with the interest rate.
After a couple of years of harrassment, added fees, and frustration, we decided to refinance just to get away from them. We were contacted by Ohana Finance and asked if they had anything to do with Ameriquest Mortgage. We were told no, they had their own financing through Argent Mortgage. Again, fees changed, rates changed, and to top it all off, 3 days after close of escrow, we received a letter congratulating us on becoming part of...Ameriquest Mortgage! There was nothing we could do then but again, went through hell and eventually, lost our home to foreclosure because they added so many erroneous fees and charges that it was almost impossible to pay it all off. Then, 2 weeks before close of escrow, they changed companies to Citi something then again to Ameri something and foreclosed. The title company couldn't even reach them to ask what they were doing. We finally ran out of money after paying thousands to attorneys who were beaten into tears by the Ameriquest/Argent attorneys. The foreclosure - we later found out - was done illegally!
