Citifinancial Mortgage Company, Inc ripoff Dallas Texas

My elderly mother has a second mortgage with this company. She had several run ins with representatives on the phone. She finally gave me the authority to deal with the company.

The taxes on the property were delinquent for 2002 & 2003. In April 2004, my mother received correspondence that Citifinancial issued a check to the City of Phila. for over $7,000 and wanted her to make an agreement to pay that amount. I immediately phoned and confirmed this information. I asked the representative if she could send me the documentation or bill from the City of Phila. (I knew the amount was incorrect). I was told that they did not keep this information after the payment was sent. At that point, I informed the rep that the delinquent taxes was not that amount and did not understand how the company could send a check without a bill.

Fortunately, I called tax unit for the City of Phila. and was told that the amount was approx $2000 not the $7000+ that Citifinancial wanted to rip my mother off for. Subsequently, I made an agreement with the City of Phila to pay the taxes and has honored it. By the way, I received a phone call much later that the check was returned because the amount was incorrect.
