Beware of the Countrywide/Full Spectrum SLAM.

I've frequently wondered why Countrywide "customer service" reps are so awful and unhelpful. Now I realize that it's becasue they are NOT customer services reps. They are Countrywide/Full Spectrum sales people. Like long distance phone carrier reps, Countrywide employees are not there to help solve problems. They are there to sell you a new loan - especially if Countrywide is the administrator of your loan ie: you have a VA/FHA loan. Any loan not originated by Countrywide/Full Spectrum needs to be converted so they can put closing costs, filing fees, and interest in their own pockets rather than taking the lesser amount they get by being a "debt collector."

When Countrywide sales reps attempt to convert your loan, be very suspicious and immediately call a local lender. Countrywide does not care if you qualify. They will jack you around, make wild promises and then when it's too late you stand to lose your home.

Be very careful that you are not slammed.
