This company insists we owe them late fees that we simply do not owe. Being unemployed for awhile, our payments are hard to make, so we have to do the "check by phone" payment method sometimes to give ourselves time to gather funds and just get it in under the wire. When you make a payment this way they ask you if you would like to apply the payment now. Of course we always say yes as this is why we called. Duh! But then they do not always apply the payment immediately, which causes a late charge. Then the next time they are contacted we are notified of these charges. We have argued with them time and time again and have even had customer service reps look up the last payment and agree that it should have been applied sooner. Only to have the same charges appear again the next month.

The other problem we have with them is that they have a "loan counselor" department number listed on the back of the mortgage loan statement. This of course leads you to believe you can call and get some kind of help when you have difficulties making a payment. All this call will get you is another payment processor who will "help" you make a payment by phone or other means. The "counselor" I spoke with readily admitted they had no provision for deferred payments, interest only payments or any other form of assistance in that respect. Even if you ask to speak to a supervisor you will get this, "a supervisor will only tell you the same thing I'm telling you sir, now would you like to make payment arrangements?"

Next our homeowners insurance lapsed because we simply could not afford it at the time. They added what they call hazard insurance to our payments. We have no problem understanding the need for this but when I asked their representative what and who exactly this insurance covered I was told it protects both them and us. But when I contacted their insurance department I was told the truth, that it only covers their loan and does absolutely nothing for us. We were simply lied to by their customer service department.

Blatant lies and misreprestaion of services, incompetent and inconsiderate representatives, shameful business practices. Watch out!
