Am I being ripped off? Or, is the following really acceptable financing procedure?

The mortgage had one years lot rent and five years home owners insurance included in its principal.

The insurance expired. I bought a new policy through another company. The mortgage payment stays the same.

It just seems like I'm continuing to pay for a service I am no longer receiving. Am I missing something?

I think what you did was finance 1 year of lot rent and 5 years of insurance.........
