I too was desperate to find myself with an adjusted ARM on my mortgage and to be late on a payment or two and located "Home Assure" online. I spoke with Chris McMinn multiple times before going through with overnighting my $5oo installment of the $1500 fee to assist me with my loan modification/and to assist me in saving my home.

Chris was such a nice guy on the phone and even after questioning him once about the validity of Home Assure and how often they were able to assist people, he goes, " I would never give out my cell phone number to people if they weren't able to be assisted." The only time that we cannot assist, is when we have people lie to us and they already have a "sale date", which makes it more difficult. However, I was always told that timing is of essence.

Once I paid the full $1500. I was assigned to Gordonna aka Donna Fountain in Charlotte, NC. Donna only sent me one email and never gave me another update on my status. After emailing both Donna & Chris and calling with no return phone calls, I received a letter of notice of Foreclosure from Saxon Mortgage, along with my sell date on my house.

I called Saxon and it appeared that they had my original financial package, that I personally sent in to them myself in the system, but never had assigned it to a Negotiator. Mind you that the finanical package is what I put together, not Home Assure and basically threw $1500 out the door with no help.

I am working with Saxon, but they dropped the ball as well and are trying to escalate my information to a Negotiator to help me keep my house.

I will most likely lose my house now, and still be out of $1500 to Home Assure, however, I could've saved it, had I worked with my lender directly and not wasted time on these people scamming me.

Live and learn... I hope there is such a thing as Karma

I think that they have since been closed, as their website is no longer active and the Attorney General of Florida has a notice about them.

#1 Ex-Employee

Michael Grieco is a master of BS

AUTHOR: Nascarluvr - Charlotte (U.S.A.)

Just so you know... as an ex-employee of the Mitigation Dept. of Home Assure, LLC, I will not defend the actions of the company, but I will defend the Mitigators that I worked side by side with every day. Whether you choose to believe it or not, we all busted our tails trying to help as many of the homeowners that we could. We are not the shameless, evil monsters that some people would make us out to be. We are people, with families, just like you.

Let's face it, there are many different factors as to why a workout option may or may not be accepted by a lender or successfully completed by a homeowner. It isnt always the Mitigators fault. I take pride in my work and stand by my work ethic.

With that said, please keep in mind, as Mitigators, we are "employees" of the company and as "employees", we were lied to and mislead by the Management team, in the same manner that a number of homeowners state that they were.

I relocated 2,700 miles to take my job with Home Assure in September, 2008. In my interview with Mr. Michael Grieco, Vice President of Loss Mitigation, he made the job sound challenging, rewarding and painted a picture that there would be incredible potential for growth. The salary he offered was larger than what I was being paid at the time. So, of course, I jumped on the opportunity and decided to leave my job with a large lender/servicer after 5 years.

Two months later, in mid-December, 2008, Mr. Grieco suddenly held an emergency meeting with all of us and announced that he was laying us all off effective immediately and was closing the business. At that point, I had been waiting for backowed monies that I would never see. I am out approx. $1,300.00.

As of today, I received a response regarding my claim that I filed back in December, 2008 with the NC Dept. of Labor... "they are unable to assist me with my wage claim"... no reason given. End report.

Home Assure, LLC dba. Assurance Consulting Group, LLC (Michael Grieco) BBB Report

AUTHOR: Nascarluvr - Charlotte (U.S.A.)

Well, once again, Home Assure, LLC dba. Assurance Consulting Group, LLC made the local news today and the BBB has issued a warning not to do business with the company.
Out of curiosity, I went to the BBB website and found that I was able to view the BBB Reliability Report for Assurance Consulting Group, LLC dba. Home Assure, LLC (Michael Grieco).

If you wish to view it also, go to the BBB website (http://charlotte.bbb.org/) and and click on "Consumers" then click on "Check out a Business or Charity" to do a company name search for "Home Assure" - "Charlotte, NC" and you will be able to view it. It lists the number of consumer complaints, types of complaints, government actions, etc. Just an FYI for anyone that's interested.
