my house caught on fire about one month ago. the insurance company (allied) sent the check to rebuild the house to me. it was also made out to household so i had to send it them before my contractor can get paid.

now household is telling me that they will send out payments to the contractor in portions. before sending more money out they have to send their inspector out to make sure everything is going fine. well that is fine with me.

i received a letter today telling me that they have set aside 10% of the money the insurance company sent to REBUILD my house to pay their inspector with. well that means they took $9000.00 out of my REBUILD money. so now i am $9000.00 short to rebuild my house and i will have to come up with it.

my insurance company says they will not pay that and that household can't do that. well it is am expense incured because of the fire.

i do not know what to do now because my contractor will eventually need that money to buy supplies or pay labor. household said to bad that is how they operate.

well i think it is illegal. inspector costs should not be a percentage of what your rebuild costs. it should be a set fee. i could understand a couple hundred dollars, but not $9000.00. i think i am getting ripped off and i plan on getting an attorney.

all i can say is as soon as everything is done and fixed i am most definately refinancing because household is a bunch of crooks. i never had my mortgage through them to begin with. they bought my loan. i wish i had never even heard of this company.

Illegal buying of loans

AUTHOR: William S. - Lansing (U.S.A.)

Apprpximately 1 year ago, My wife and I refincanced to get a lower rate than with Household Beneficial. We use a loan brokerage firm in Lansing Michigan. The financing came from a loan firm in Calfornia, American ??.

Less that one month later they had sold us back to Household Mortgage Services, before even one payment could be made. I was given no choice in the matter, nor was I informed until the transaction had taken place. Beneficial treated us like **##**.

Now we are again stuck with a subsidiary of the same company. They are just as unprofessional with their customers as beneficial.

I was notified by letter several months ago of a lawsuite pending by Calfornia's Attourney General. I have not heard back as of yet.

We received a settlement from the Michigan Attourney General from a case against Beneficial.

I GREATLY DETEST HOUSEHOLD MORTGAGE SERVICES AND WISH I COULD SOMEHOW SEE THEM BROUGHT DOWN AND EVEN FORCED TO CLOSE BUSINESS, TO INCLUDING PAYING OFF ILLEGALLY OBTAIN LOANS IN FULL AND IN WRITING. THEY ARE AN INSLUT TO AMERICAN BUSINESS.
