Leader Mortgage ripoff. 10 Loan Officers agree that Leader is one of the worst Mortgages Companies out there. Cleveland Ohio

My wife and I have a home in Euclid, Ohio through Leader Mortgage based in Cleveland, Ohio. We had to leave Ohio due to health problems and our daughter rented our house. In June we had to switch banks and we couldn't get our Automatic Payment stopped in time to prevent an overdraft.

BankOne was the bank we chose and we had many problems with them regarding our checking account which resulted in 1 payment to Leader Mortgage being returned June 2001. The replacement check for June was cashed on July 2, 2001. Our August 2001 payment was also returned and the check for August 2001 was cashed on September 19, 2001. In September of 2001 we made another payment which paid for September.

For the past 2 years Leader Mortgage has said that we were missing a payment but we have proven that we are not. Whenever they gave us a month that a payment was missing, we furnished them with the verification that it had been paid, but they would come up with a different month every time.

After going back and forth with them we forwarded to Leader Mortgage and the Credit Bureaus all of our payments that we made to Leader Mortgage since October of 1999. On June 27th we received a letter from Leader Mortgage stating that they do not know which payment is missing, and the credit bureau has removed the negative information from our credit reports.

For 2 years they have reported us as late because of a missed payment that isn't even missing and they can't find. Right now they say we owe them over $1300.00 when it should only be $821.47.

Leader Mortgage's reputation in the mortgage industry is very poor. I have spoken with about 10 Loan Officers and they have told me that Leader is one of the worst Mortgages Companies out there. We know that other people have had problems with them as well and we would like to hear from those people.
