I was surfing the internet looking for a mortgage company and came across Money Tree Mortgage. I contacted them and was told they would send the paper work. My wife and I filled out and sent the $300.00 fee they asked for. After that they told me to begin looking and when I found a property I was interested in, just let them know where it was and they would take care of the rest.
My wife and found a property and put a $500.00 good faith money up and again notified Money Tree, but this time all we got was a busy signal. I tried for a week, several times a day and still, a busy signal. We later found out that they had been shut down by the FBI and Internal Revenue for fraud of customers. Meanwile, I'm out the $300.00 fee and a $500.00 good faith money for a property that money Tree had no intentions of helping me purchase. I'm a simple man and don't have much, especially $800.00 to throw down the drain. I feel the customers that have been done this way are owed and should be compensated for the agrravation and stress that it might have on them.
