Received a phone call Tuesday from our mortgage broker. Apparently Aurora Loan Services wasn't happy with the final dollar amount that was paid to them. September 3, 2004, I had my first closing with the new mortgage company. The next day, my broker called and informed me that a mistake was made (Aurora Loan Services) and the numbers that I have and the forms that were signed are not good.
An additional $12,000.00 was added - you know the usual attorney fees, return check charge(?) unidentified items. If I didn't have the additionall funds by the next day, I lost my home. Thankfully my boyfriend's daughter took a loan out for the full amount that was added. No groceries again this week. Thought that I was finished - silly you - NOT.
Tuesday an additional $2300.00(roughly a little more) was added. This time attorney fees. Never mind that HUD frowns on things like this. Their attorney faxed an itemized bill - amounts add up correctly - they even gave me a credit for their fee. Then the itemized bill from Aurora Loan Services. The final amount is close, they added the attorney fees, even though they were not charged, undisclosed charges, taxes for the full year 2004 and 2003 were not paid yet. Even though the taxes were in escrow. This is a big no-no. Forced to pay the additional amount or lose the house. All final now ( I think) and now it's my turn.
Fifteen mortgage payments in thirteen months. That makes me 2 (two) payments ahead. National City Mortgage kept the payments, never sending them to Aurora. Aurora now foreclosed on the 2 payments that National City kept.
A little advise - keep copies of all letters to them, and all from them. Write down names of all fools that you try to talk to. Let them laugh at you, I told one fool that I refuse to have a battle of the wits with an unarmed man. He hung up on me. Getting mad gets you nowhere. GET EVEN.
