on november 5,2008 national city mortgage withdrew four hundred dollars to pay for an appraisal on a house my wife and i were trying to purchase. two weeks went by and hector guillermo called and said that our house could not be appraised. i asked when was my four hundred dollars would be refunded. hector informed me that he did not know, but he would call me with in the next few days after talking to the financial people in the company. since the end of november 2008 all contacts with the company were not answered. we have tryed all numbers and to answer or we leave a message but no call back from hector or the company.all i want is my money back since they are not going to continue with a mortgage.

Just a suggestion....when you say 'the house wouldnt appraise", my assumption would be that what the loan officer meant was that the value didnt come in as high as was needed. If this is the case, an appraisal WAS ordered & received, so, therefore, National City has the right to keep the $400. My suggestion is that you call your Loan Officer again & ask him for a copy of your appraisal.
