Principal Residential Mortgage Principal called our son & daughter-in-law - telling them that they were late with payments (twice) We were not late on our payments They were illegal & tried a sneaky. Des Moines Iowa

After Principal called our Son's home in April & in May --leaving messages that THEY were late on their mortgage payments. (Our son and his wife thought maybe their mortgage had been sold and their payments were not going to the right people, so after the 2nd call, they called their lender first before calling the # on the answering machine) Our daughter-in-law called their collections number that they had left and found that it was Carlton L. and Deanna Quamme they were trying to locate, not Carlton M. and Shannon Quamme.

We were NOT behind on our payments, they had sent a payment to pricipal instead of putting it down as a payment for Feb. 2004 and then each month, they started charging us late charges. After our banker checked the account for me, we found out that even after a phone call and a letter, they still had not removed the late charges. It took another call and we hope they have straightened it out now.

Each time I have contacted them, they have acted very ho-hum and so it makes us wonder if this goes on with them on a regular basis. We had never gotten anything from these people by mail saying they considered us behind on our payments. This was something else we considered stange.

These people were more than unprofessional, they were ILLEGAL by contacting someone else about our account, left messages on an answering machine for anyone to hear and we don't know how they got our son & daughter-in-laws phone #.
