Wells Fargo Mortgage is the most awful bank to do business with. They have about 400 call center reps that pass you on the phone to about 20 different ones because they don't even know or understand how the banking business functions. As for trying to help homeowners stay in their homes is such a scam. What all the homeowner's need to do is get together and file a petition that must be sent to President Elect Barack Obama to make him aware of what really is happening with the mortgage foreclosures. As far as I am concerned there is no such organization as "Hope for Homeowners" and if there is such an organization then why in the world is nothing being done to help us homeowner's who are having hardships making our monthly mortgage payments to this bank.

I know that there are many homeowners who are up-side-down with the value of their residences. Meaning if you purchased your home for 225,000 in 2006 and you owe an interest only 30 year loan for a balance of 215,000 and your home is assessed and valued at 160,000 then you have no equity in your home and your paying taxes on the purchase of the home leaving you in a critical situation especially when you lose your job, health insurance and have to dip into your credit cards till they are maxed out to survive. The economy is at its worst since the 1930's, no jobs, homes devalued, loss of health care, high credit card payments and this is just a tip of what is a true reality that we Americans face today.

So having said all this, why don't we all group together and sign a petition to the new President Elect Obama asking him for his support and to look into this scam with Wells Fargo.

Amazing, you can't even contact them especially when they lie to the homeowners that their home is being modified for a reduction in mortgage payments. They give you 100's of phone numbers to call and heaps of fax numbers to fax your hardship letter. They assign you a Loss Mitigation Analyst who you can't even contact because he does not accept phone calls or emails. The emails are for internal use only. Then when you call them again to see the course of action where your loan modification status is being analyzed, they then tell you that another Loan Mitigation Analyst is working on your hardship situation. I am so disgusted with Wells Fargo; I would not refer them to my worst dog. Perhaps some political guru that has some clout will show some authority, scrutinize and investigate the problem with Wells Fargo Mortgage Bank.

Pay your bills and become an educated consumer

AUTHOR: Chetsteadman - Rocket (U.S.A.)

If everyone in America didn't get so damn caught up in keeping up with the Jones' we wouldn't be in the mess we are in. I guess written contracts don't mean anything these days? Where's the individual accountability? Why go to President Elect Obama? Get mad at your fellow American's who were so gullible to buy into the idea of becoming a homeowner and bit off more they could chew. Those people didn't hold up their end of the deal when it came to making payments which set off a bad chain reaction which burst the housing bubble. Yeah, the banks were pushing a lot of home loans, but it boils down to the individual who caught up with the idea of owning a home, but got in over their head. Same goes for everything in life - cars, plasma televisions, over sized yachts, and everything else that goes with the buy now pay later mantra. It's amazing that people can find time to read the latest Britney/Federline blogs and American Idol forums, but cannot spend an hour a week educating themselves on things that actually are important within their daily life. We are becoming a "sue happy" society that is more reliant on the government fixing things than actually going out and taking the responsibility of fixing it ourselves. Watch the movie Idiocracy as we as a society are getting closer to it everyday.

I'm getting sick and tired of this...

AUTHOR: Nikki - Coconut Creek (U.S.A.)

I'm getting sick and tired of those people who are telling others that they shouldn't have bought more home than they could afford. There are people out there who purchased homes and could afford the payments at the initial rates (7%-8%). They were told by their mortgage brokers they would be able to refinance before the interest rates went up to 10%-12% and all would be good. Why shouldn't they believe the mortgage brokers? The brokers are supposed to be the specialists in their field.

Now, these people try to refinance and they're told their homes are no longer worth their mortgage balance so they can't refinance. And to boot, their interest rates are now 10% - 12%. For some, that's an extra $500-$1500 per month than they were paying. How ridiculous is that? It's also not really fair if you stop and think about it.

Basically the banks are saying, "We hold a mortgage balance of $300,000 on your home, but now that your home is not worth that, we will not put you into another $300,000 loan. We'll keep you at your original $300,000 loan that you cannot pay for. We refuse to put you put you into a $300,000 loan that you can pay for because your home is no longer worth that. We'll just foreclose on you instead."

Now, what does that really accomplish?

Why do mortgage companies want half a loaf

AUTHOR: Jimt - Fredericksburg (U.S.A.)

I see a lot of comments on irresponsible "buyers", those that bit off more than they could chew. Well, the facts are this simple. Those people were gone last year. However that foreclosure mess, brought on by dangerous lenders and mortgage brokers that were only interested in getting huge commissions, only to sell the paper before trouble set in, and along with realtors and appraisers that set up a ponzi scheme, set off an avalanche that is sweeping across the country. People getting foreclosed on now are victims of mortgage lending deciept. I am talking about people that have lost jobs, a spouse gets laid off, another company shuts down because industry that supplied the housing industry collapsed and all the industries that relied on consumers that are no longer consumers because of job loss. You see, the housing industry was not localized to one community, it was national. The collapse of the housing industry has become our national disgrace.

A mess of people laughed all the way to the bank and trampled over the bodies of human beings along the way. I for one am no longer interested in listening to some bill collector or lender blame the buyer for the problems the mortgage industry has caused.

What baffles me is why the lenders are more than eager to foreclose so they don't get sued by investors over contractual agreements. Why not go to the investors and say, "Listen...if we let this property foreclose...you get nuthin'...contract fulfilled. However if you give us blanket authority to modify the loans you get a lot more than nuthin'...maybe just not as much interest...but you get your principle and interest...just not as much interest."

My question is simple. Just how stupid are the investors? They might cut their collective noses off just to spite their collective faces. Or will they wise up and settle for much more than half a loaf?
