I needed to move from Pleasant Hill Iowa to Elkhart Indiana. I foolishly looked on the internet for a mover and got tons of calls. Trans National Moving contacted me and offered to move me the next day for $1326 guaranteed. She (marcie) told me she need a deposit of $300 and she would send me a cc authorization electronically. She walked me through the process and boom we were done. She said that it was a big truck with lots of room because I had a full sized Harley Davidson included in this move. She said no problem they have a rack that it fits in and ties down. Elite Moving and Storage contacted me and said they would be there at 10am the next morning. He said the truck was 1:45 minutes away from me...at 10:05 I called to make sure they were still going to be there at 10am. I was told that they were not on the roaad yet that he thought they were a 1/2 hour away from me when he talked to me last nite (read above statement he made). They finally showed up at 1:12 and had a side loading van...maybe a 20' at most with a ramp that a goat would have trouble climbing...they could take all my stuff becaus they didn't have any place for it.
We struggled to get the motorcycle in but with 3 of us it got done. They left Pleasant Hill at 3pm. It is a 7 hour drive to Elkhart. They wanted to unload that night and I told them no. Their dispatch called and pressured me to let them unload at midnight and again I said no...he said they would have it delivered tomorrow and to call them. I called them numerous times and never once did I get a delivery time and only talked to a dispatch person once during all those calls...I was told it would be here early because that truck had to go out again....it is 3:30pm and I still have not delivery and I cant get a response from these people. I have thought about calling the Michigan State Police and reporting the goods as missing but that would probably not get any results. Monday its a call to the attorney I guess because I dont expect the delivery until Monday...I would advise anyone not to use any moving company that is not a recognized carrier like Allied or American....this is the worse example of customer service and shoddy business practices I have ever experienced...believe me if I could sue these people I would....they just called...delivery is supposed to be at 8pm tonite...that is the time I sarcastically said to the dispatch last night "it will be there before 8pm right?"...these are some lousy people to deal with...stay away...do yourself a favor and stay clear of these people. They also charged me a 100 dollars more than agreed upon...I signed a contract...they cc author that Marcie said I was signing had a weight clause....gotta ya....stay away from Trans National brokers and Elite Moving and Storage...its Cliff at Elite. Remeber that name.
