BEST TIME MOVERS 123MOVERS ,METRO VAN LINES ,PERSONAL TOUCH MOVERS Scam Artists. Misquoted the move then added additional costs after they left. Forged my signature on additional costs I never saw or signed Rockville Maryland

In March 2009 I got an estimate from for $340.00. That was for 3 men @ $85.00 per hour for 3 hours and Travel Time $85.00 = $340.00 Best Time Movers Customer Rep: Betty RosenI put my deposit of $85.00 to hold the move date for March 2009. I had moved the year before with another local moving company and the total cost was $500.00 so I considered it to be a good rate.

Juber (foreman) for Best Time Movers showed up at 9am to my 2 bedroom 1 Bath apartment. Only 1 Adult and 1 Child live in this apartment. All my belongings were in the front of the apartment to be moved into the truck. Juber briefly showed me the “Packing Materials Order Form” I asked him “so all materials will cost me between $100 - $200?” He stated “yes” so I told him he could continue with the service. Never expecting the surprise I was in for.

I had told Juber numerous times that certain items did not need to be boxed up for I had Large Construction Strength trash bags for those items. Example – daughters toys, blankets but he insisted that it was company policy. When everything was packed up in the truck they followed me the 4 miles to get to the new address. It is at that point I got the surprise of my life. Juber now wanted me to pay prior to them off loading the truck.

When he provided me the paper work it stated:
7 hours of labor @ 85.00 per hour = $595.00
Packaging / Other_______________$767.00
Which like Huber had stated would be between $100 - $200
So if you do the math $595.00 + $172.00 = $767.00

BUT THAT IS THE CATCH $767.00 is for Bubble Wrap – 7 Boxes – and Tape

My bill was $1,498.00 and in order to get my furniture I had to pay. Now keep in mind that Juber told me $100 - $200 NOT $767.00 If I would have known that I would have asked Best Time Movers to leave. I was devastated and realized I was scammed. But in order to get my furniture I had to use 2 Credit cards. Juber knew I was upset because I confronted him about the charges for materials and asked why he would tell me one thing then turn around and charge me 3 times as much when the goods arrive are at their final destination. He has only to say that he only makes $10.00 an hour.

Immediately after they left I tried calling Best Time Movers and got no answer. I tried Sunday as well and still no answer. I called Monday March 30th and asked to speak to a manager and Megan stated that they were on the phone and to call back in ten minutes. I called 40 minutes later and again I got the same response. I finally got Betty on the phone and spoke to her about my concerns. I told her that Huber quoted me $100 - $200 and that he charged me $767.00 for materials.

She stated she would have to talk to him and stated that the charges were stated on the “revision form” I told her that I had no revision form what so ever. She said she would talk to Juber and then fax it to me. 48 hours later I get a “Revised Written Estimate” stating at total of $1628.00 now. What kills me is that I NEVER SAW OR SIGNED THIS FORM. Betty could care less and would do nothing.

I asked her if I could speak to the owner and she stated that there is none. I told her every company has an owner. I have since contacted the BBB – and News Stations in the area to get the word out. I have closed my CC accounts in order to protect myself and credit for I have no idea what they are liable to do.
