Starving Students Moving Company Will never use them again to move!!! Los Angeles California

To whom it may concern,

This report is to alert anyone of the poor service I had received involving Starving Students Moving Company. Here is a summary of my experience with Starving Student Moving Company and I hope they change their practices so no one else will have to experience this at an already stressful time.

When I booked my move I was told the price was $99 and hour ( minium 2 hours) and that included 2 “Professional” movers along with a truck and equipment plus a 22% fee. When the movers showed up I was told that I needed to give them a deposit before they would begin. At no time during the booking of my move was I told this and started to get nervous about the situation. During the move both movers were cursing and playing around which I did not find professional in front of my 11 year old son and mother. Their use of curse words including the F word was not professional at all. One of the movers proceeded to explain how he was attacked by someone and could not use one of his hands hardly as to explain why they were hitting the doorway with my furniture and dropping my mattress over the stairway.

About halfway through the move as if on cue the mover with the injury stopped to tell me how he wants to save me money on the move and explains that there is a 3 hour min and that he would tell his boss that it was only a short drive to the new apartment if that would save me money. I then asked him what he was trying to tell me and I was told that he didn't want me to be charged for the use of the truck.

I then called Starving Students Customer Service and explained that once again during my booking I was told that my move included a truck and that I felt like I was being taken advantage of since at this time most of my furniture was on the truck. I was then told that there is some kind of additional hour charge and I explained that I was never told of this charge. I was then told someone would contact me about this issue which was done and I was not charged that additional hour.

During the move both movers wasted so much time laughing and one mover used the bathroom for 15 minutes which was not deducted from the moving time which was 2 hours and 30 minutes to move 12 items. To top off this dreadful experience at the conclusion of the move I was told that I would only be charged for 2 hours as well as the 30 minutes over with came out to be $300 total. On the bill the mover wrote on and handed me I was being charged an additional amount of $211 above the $246 deposit amount. I then spoke to someone on the mover's cell phone and we went over the charges.

During the conversation both of us came up with the same amount of $300 and when I asked why was I then told to pay $457 instead of $300 I was told to just pay the $300. I explained that I just wanted to make sure it was correct and the person I spoke to said just to pay that amount. As you can see from reading this my service with your company was very poor and the bait and switch routinewill not be tolerated. I will not be using your services again. I also had other people present during the move and they could not believe the un-professionalism of the movers and I'm sure they will be telling others of this experience.
