    ...the right way!
    Corporate Advocacy Program
hired Ultimate Van Lines to move me from OH to GA. Before loading truck on 3-24, driver Alan said I owed $600 more than estimate. Afterwards, he asked for $100 tip. He said to call "dispatch" next day to get exact delivery date-was told by salesperson Matthew Brody that I could expect it 2-5 days after loading. No one EVER answered the dispatch number-tried for 3 weeks. I continued emailing and calling their main number every day-waiting in GA in an empty apartment. The only email I would rarely receive had no information exccept "you'll know when we know." I asked where my belongings were because after waiting this long, I wanted to go back to OH and pick them up myself. I never received any info.

Finally, a phone call from the supposed Manager Tina said the delivery would be the next day and that I had to pay my balance $986 before the driver would come. She sent me a blank form to fill out. I asked how I would redeem a coupon for $100 off their services that I obtained from their own website (I also asked Alan how to redeem this-he had no clue) She said I could only use it on "pick" but I informed her the driver wouldn't do it.

Long story, I filled out the form and faxed it back to her. Two days later, the driver with 2 "non-English speaking" helpers pulled up and demanded $1000 CASH before they would open the truck or "I take load back to OH-Tina knows I only work on cash." I explained that I paid the balance to Tina 2 days before and showed him my receipt. As I looked at the truck that held my belongings hostage I had no choice but to pay him.

The first item they unloaded was my new couch with a now broken off, unrepairable leg. The second, was a stack of clearly marked "fragile/glass" boxes that they dropped off the dolly and broke all the contents. This was a disaster day! They lost the hardware needed to secure the legs on my dining room table. I now had 2 dishes from a set. I was not offered any truck-weigh slips til after I demanding to see what my exact load weighed. Matthew said "you pay for what it weighs and at delivery, you could owe less." I did owe less but was never compensated for it or damages. In fact, they submitted credit card slips that I never signed. I am disputing all charges from this rip-off company. DO NOT HIRE ULTIMATE VAN LINES.
