I received an estimate for a move from NJ to PA from Dick Cooper at Wade Odell Wade. After asking several questions about what I was being charged for, I hired Wade Odell Wade for my move. I was told that they only extra charges would be for packing material. When my household items were deliverd to PA, a bill was given to me that was $1,500.00 more than the estimate.
I called the office for an explanation of the bill, while my furniture was held "hostage" on the truck. The only explanation I got was that the extra amount was for packing materials and miscellaneous items. I had no option but to pay the bill in full, in order to get my furniture off the truck. I have since contacted Dick Cooper several times and asked how the final bill can be so much more than his estimate. He only offered my an apology and no real explanation. Also, the movers caused damage to my furniture, sports equiptment, appliances and walls that they tried to hide from me, until they left. I now have to pay another $250.00 deductible out of my pocket to have all these items repaired. I feel that Dick Cooper and his company were dishonest. I was lied to about the cost of the move, so that I would pick this company. I believe that I was really ripped off by this company and I want others to beware of what they are doing. I got estimates from 3 other moving companies and Wade Odell Wade had the lowest estimate. But when I had to pay the final bill, it was the highest cost of anyone else I had meet with.

I am currently in the process of finding a company to move me from NYC to Florida and am looking at WOW. So far, they have provided me a contract with a "Total Not-To-Exceed Cost" of $4278. Did you secure such a thing? Did you have a signed contract? If so, were they still able to extort more money from you on delivery? Thank you and good luck with your lawsuit.
