Zen Van Lines Holding goods hostage and demanding twice the estimate Atlanta Georgia

Zen Van Lines gave me an estimate for 2300 lbs for my interstate move from Atlanta to Cincinnati, OH. Just prior to delivery, I was told that my inventory weighed 5000 lbs and doubled up the price to $3000 from $1500. I know this cannot be true as I just recently moved to Atlanta and all my goods were weighed @ 3200 lbs by a reliable mover who contracts with my employer.
I offered to pay their demands as a price for my mistake in contracting with this company. My only request was for a re-weigh in my presence. I understand this is my right as per FMCSA guidelines. They have refused and wanted me to go to Atlanta for the re-weigh. Initially, they said it would cost another $700 to re-weigh.
I have filed complaints with FMCSA and BBB and waiting to hear from them. It has been a month without our goods now. Moving by itself is stressful and Zen Van Lines will make it miserable. You will be making a BIG MISTAKE if you contract with this company. I tried to save some money and ended up paying for it!.

I am glad to update that Zen Van Lines was very cooperative in trying to resolve this issue. As a result, we were able to come to a mutually acceptable agreement. They certainly met the BBB standards in addressing my situation. In moving, things may not got exactly as planned but the fact that Zen would cooperate and address my concerns in a professional manner is noteworthy.
It is true that I was disappointed when I filed the online report earlier. To be fair to the comany, I think it is necessary to higlight the positive outcome as well.

Just to let you know, it's pretty common for a scam mover to tell you they'll work things out IF you spin your negative report into something positive. Going 30 days without your stuff being delivered yields nothing positive - not even a delay claim payment, which this company won't offer you.
At this point, I fully expect the mover to NOT settle with you, nor do I expect them to follow through on whatever they told you. You gave them what they wanted without getting anything tangible in return. At this point, Zen is still a scam mover and others reading this report need to know this.
To the folks at Zen movers: If you want Paul to come back and REALLY report something positive, my advice would be to make the final bill $1500 and refund him anything he paid over that amount - which is the original quote you gave. If you make good on that $1500 quote and Paul comes back to say you reduced the price to $1500 AND he received the refund, then we'll know this was a positive experience and you get advertising on the internet for it. Until then....... you've done nothing and Paul shouldn't report anything further until you've done that.
