I hired a company from Fort Lauderdale and they hired a company from Atlanta, Georgia. I was not notified of this change until they came to move me.

They brought a rented Budget truck and a u-haul trailer and when I told them my household would not fit in this truck they proceeded to cram everything they could into this truck and u-haul and then they needed to get another truck anyway.

Every item I own was either scratched, dented, broken, chipped, or dirty. My mattress looked like it was dragged behind the truck. My things were not properly wrapped or cushioned which voided my insurance warranty. When I asked the movers, they said, "you have insurance, what are you worried about?"

I purchased a second insurance policy for approximately $150.00 and insured my big items for $9000.00, they want to give me $1200.00 for repairs.

They would not cover anything that was not properly wrapped, which was everything. My mattress and my leather and upholstered sofas were not covered under the insurance either.

I tried to hire an attorney but they said it was pointless, the movers have more rights than the consumer.

The movers not only destroyed all of my things, I had to call the police at the end of the day because he tried to accost me. He was trying to force me to sign off on his paperwork that said everything arrived in good condition and when I refused he came at me as if to hit me.

I want these people stopped from moving anyone else, this was the worst experience I have ever had.

Movers from hell !

Yes - These Guys Are Bad

AUTHOR: Jim - Anaheim (U.S.A.)

There are a number of reports about these folks on the internet and the hell they put a lot of people through. If I'm not mistaken, the address you listed is the one for National Relocation Services - a broker who farms out moves. The suite number looks different, but the address looks right. In any case, your experience should tell people not only to stay away from this company - it should tell people of the following:

1. Do not use the internet to find a mover. Most disreputable movers are found on the internet and your chances of finding a reputable mover on an internet are about 1 in 100.

2. Do not use a broker to move - you don't need one. You can contract the move yourself. A broker is nothing more than a middle person who takes your money from you, finds you anyone with a truck (whether they are licensed or not), and then assumes little to responsibility once the move is underway. If the mover they give you screws up, charges you more for the move, etc... - you are SOL with the broker.

3. You should find a mover local to where you are. If you are in Georgia (or any state for that matter) you should not use a mover that is not in your state.

4. You can find movers through the Yellow Pages - make certain again, that their address is in your area. If they are not - disregard them. You can also ask a Real Estate agent about movers - they often have really good information.

5. Get 3 quotes from three potential movers. I personally recommend quotes from agents from any of the major companies because the industry is so full of corrupt movers that the major names are the only ones determined to be reputable. It does not mean your move will always go 100% perfect, but you will not be scammed by a major moving company. Make certain your mover comes to your residence to see what needs to be moved - anyone who doesn't, does not need to be given your business.

6. Once you've narrowed your mover down to 1-2, go on the internet and research them - see what has been the experience of others using the movers you're considering. There are also websites setup by the government that will help you in your research.

7. If you plan on moving out of state, do not use a mover with 1-2 trucks; the trucks represent their only source of revenue and if their only source of revenue is on the road driving cross-country - the moving company isn't making any money where they are on local jobs. If you do contract with them, chances are they will not do the move (and what happened to the OP in finding out last minute would happen to you).

There are more steps, but following these simple thoughts and steps will make certain you will not contract with a scam mover.

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

AUTHOR: BHB - Poplar Bluff (United States of America)

I have used this company and they are on the level of scammers.

They only give non-binding estimates and then charge you double with the threat of locking your stuff up if  you don't pay.

The contractor they hired to move my stuff, left about a third of my stuff in Idaho and moved the rest of it to Missouri.  The truck was loaded very poorly, lots of broken stuff.  He unloaded the truck alone out the side door of a penske truck about 4 to 5 feet up.  How did one person carefully unload heavy stuff like that.  He didn't even have a ramp.  My grill is partially taken apart, where are the screws and why was it taken apart in the first place?  Some screws are gone, but others that would need to be removed to take the shelf off are still in place. So the shelf is just flopping there halfway off.  They left our microwave and stand, that was on the list.  Many, many other things left or missing.

I can't afford to go get the remainder of my stuff, like my silverware and most of our dishes.  I am still waiting on the resolution letter that was supposed to be in the mail at the beginning of December 2009.

I have paid and paid and paid for the mistake of not properly researching this company.  If you do use them demand the come and inspect what needs done (they won't by the way), demand a binding estimate (you won't get it), and buy the full coverage insurance.  Then get ready to have lots of broken, missing things.
