My partner and I purchased a studio appartment in Aspen Valley, Bulgaria. During this trip we were constantly supervised so we could not see any alternative developers projects. We did decide to buy the studio and we were introduced to 'independent' lawyers to act for us. These were Legal Independence and were based in Bulgaria, we signed the POA and paid the reservation deposit.

A while later we were introduced to Capital Finance Prtners ( desciried as independent from MRI) who would help us get a mortgage and who told us how much more the studio would be worth when it was built.

We sent the next instalment for the studio and looked forward to our future owning the property.

Last summer we were alerted to th fact that MRI had put mortgages on the studio despite the contract saying that they could not do this. We had also become alarmed by the meny horror stories about MRI being linked to Legal Independence and Capital Finance Partners and the fact that they were not independent! We decided to terminate the contract with MRI as they had breached the contract that they had with us. They were asked to refund our money and a year on they have not done this!

To this day we and many others have not had any money back. There are rumours that MRI are on the verge of bankrupcy and if this happens there will be many people in all countries left feeling ripped-off by MRI!
