Tri-County Humane Society Children don't qualify for puppies on the contrary large dogs do qualify for children. Boca Raton Florida

While I had previously read that the Tri-County Humane Society discriminated against people, I overlooked it believeing that is was a disgruntle customer. However, I recently went with my children there and filled out the paper work as my daughter fell in love with one of the puppies. Sadly we were denied for the sole reason that they don't give puppies to people with children. However they did say we qualified for a big dog. That is discrimination to children. I remember growing up with a puppy and that is how families establish a life long family member with a dog, that is by raising them for the time they are a pup. However, Tri-County would rather provide a large dog to children which perhaps may be set in ways and bite. My daughter was heart broken and cried. She did not understand why we were denied when we are capable, willing, and loving enough to take care of a pet. Instead Tri-County would prefer to keep this puppy in a cage instead of allowing it to go home with a nice loving family.
I am very disappointed and in shock that according to them puppies just aren't for kids. Since when? I don't believe it's fair to discriminate against children.
