Target - Marshall Fields - Mervyns multi accounts, but target pays only online? early online payment denied, then late fee. rip-offs slime-ball slow prossessing the business that doesn’t give a damn slow prossessing corruption in Minneapolis
I signed up for online payments for my marvyns, Mershall fields AND Targut.. Each All worked ok the first month until I attempted to make my second months payments online on a friday night.
Mervyns and Marshal fields sites all lead to Targets payment website and none of the usernames OR passwords worked to access any account including targets?? Then the next morning I called to find out that they could not post my payments until after the weekend.
the late fees were by then added . Two of my accounts had only $20 balances and target only $18.. they then added $29 late fees to each card. It seems they will do anything NOT to take your money each month ON TIME so they can then Jack You for a big fat late fee .which in my case added to 400 % interest compounded fracturedly.. I feel like they are breaking my legs to get at my wallet.
Now my latest credit report shows them all late... But they werent over 30 days so why are they even on my credit report??

If you make a payment after regular business hours on Friday, it normally would not post to your account until Monday, and usually would not reflect in your available credit until Tuesday morning. Same thing as if you made a deposit after the cut off time at your bank. It would not post and be reflected in your balance until the following business day.
I know fees are a drag, but when you wait until the last possible moment, it happens sometimes.
I have to say though, I am not too crazy about their website. I pay mine through my bank's online bill pay and it is very efficient and posts in two days or less.

You really need to get your facts straight! As of 2002 when this was posted only TARGET could be paid online. Mervyns did not have this capability (so there's no way it could have "worked the first month"). It actually wasn't until after TARGET sold Mervyns and Mervyns had new owners that bill paying online became an option.
Bill paying for Mervyns accounts online did not happen until this spring (2005). So before you bash all three companies, which are now all seperated by the way, you really should get your facts straight and take your anger out on the one company (TARGET) that actually did you wrong!

Is someone actually defending Mervyns? You must be a new employee. Just wait a few months and they'll start treating you bad. Or get injured and see how they treat you then.
The fact that Mervyns didn't have online payment until just a few years ago is STUPID. No one pays in person or by mail anymore. Of course we are talking about a company who still uses registers from the 1990s.
