I just received a letter from Wells Fargo. It seems that four computers were stolen. They did not say where the computers were stolen from, just that my personal information was on one of them. Of course they offered me a free one year subscription to an anti-thief protection service, just like they did a year ago when a computer was stolen from them. This will affect me for the rest of my days. Any advice would be appreciated.

Wells Fargo doesn't care

AUTHOR: Jennifer - San Diego (U.S.A.)

Hi Rhonda,

I have a student loan with Wells Fargo and received the same letter you did regarding stolen computers with my personal information on them.

I have done a bit of research and found out that this is the 3rd time in 1 year that Wells Fargo has had computers stolen from them. When I learned this, I felt like I had to take further action. I am in the process of working with an attorney to see what, if anything, can be done. I am very angry that Wells Fargo keeps letting this happen. Being such a huge corporation, you would think they would take the security of their customer's confidential info more seriously. Apparently not. I am outraged that they have not taken the proper steps to prevent this.

I have been a victim of identity theft in the past and let me just tell you what a nightmare it can be. For that reason I refuse to sit back and do nothing. I don't trust Wells Fargo one bit anymore and niether should anyone else who banks or has any type of loan through them.

I faxed my copy of the letter to my attorney and am waiting to hear back. As soon as I get any more information, I will update you.

Good luck on this matter.
