While I do not condone any kind of gambling since money is too precious
these days...and the fact that you may have been ripped off...simply
stating it is "illegal" to on-line gamble in the USA may not be 100%
true..it is a gray area, at least with gaming casinos..sports betting
however seems to be a different story..there have been jail sentences
and issues..especially if huge payouts are involved..
The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled in November 2002 that the Federal Wire Act
prohibits electronic transmission of information for sports betting
across telecommunications lines but affirmed a lower court ruling that the Wire Act "'in plain language' does not prohibit Internet gambling on a game of chance."
Some states have specific laws against online gambling of any kind.
Also, owning an online gaming operation without proper licensing would
be illegal, and no states are currently granting online gaming licenses.

I found it informative.
I
also did some background checking into the online casino that is
ripping you off and they may be on the up and up..hard to tell. Just
keep at it. They are still operating so perhaps there are other reasons
you can not get through to them..and once you do, they may make good.
As Flynrider stated however..since this is not a USA operation..you will
not have any recourse if they decide to screw you over..so reporting
here was the right thing to do.
