I have made numerous purchases from Pacific Geek over the past few months. Product selection is good and prices are good too. Unfortunately Pacific geek is selling goods they don't have. On many of the the purchases I have received an invoice which says products are back ordered or no stock available. On one occasion I ordered 5 ATA hard drive cables and they sent one saying no stock available. On another occasion I ordered two U.s. Robotics PCMCIA wireless cards.

When a partial shipment of the rest of the order came it said they were back ordered. Then two weeks later I received one of the two I ordered with no mention of the other one. Once an empty manilla envelope was with a hole in the bottom.

I emailed pacific geeks and complained and they said they always tape the bottom of the envelopes to prevent this from happening. I have received 3 such envelopes with nothing taped. My major complaint about shipping is that they are charging for FedEx shipping and then using the US Postal service to ship. They then pocket the difference in cost. This is a fraudulent practice. I NEVER ship anything through the postal service.

I dont like receiving destroyed packages. The above mentioned envelope was shipped through the postal service and I paid for FedEx shipping. I wrote to Pacific Geek and complained about the fraudulent practice and their response was that they ship about 20% of their packages this way.

They dont seem to understand that they are defrauding 20% of the people buying from them. If I pay for FedEx shipping I should get FedEx shipping. I have the archived the email messages if anyone (including a lawyer) wants to see it. Pacific geek reluctantly agreed to refund the money for the missing memory lost from the untaped envelope but they have not agreed to refund my shipping. Had they shipped via FedEx I would not ask for a refund.

After I complained, they are STILL shipping merchandise to me via the postal service instead of FedEx. They still owe me merchandise that has not been shipp but I have Paid In Full for.
