PlaceSettings.com One year since order - NO product and NO refund Matthews North Carolina

On December 27, 2006 I ordered $253 worth of china through placesettings.com. I was informed that because this was a custom pattern it may take as long as 6-12 months to receive.
I felt nervous about the immediate credit card charge but understood this to be company policy. When I had heard no updates and received no product in July 2007 I became nervous and contacted the company for an order update.
At that point I discovered that the product had been discontinued and the order could not be filled. All I expected at that point was a long overdue refund. Despite many emails by customer service promising to check into the situation I still have not received any money as of today, November 30, 2007.
I am so frustrated that I cannot get my money. When you call the phone number listed on the website all you get is an answering machine. I have left several messages but no return phone call to discuss in person. I was searching for an alternate phone number yesterday and discovered the Ripoff Report site with the numerous complaints against this company.
Something needs to be done to stop these people from stealing money from innocent people. If anyone has ideas of how I can be successful getting my refund I would love to hear!!!

Place Settings responded claiming they had no record of an order from my name or address. I have a hard time believing this as I am looking at my order summary right now and it lists my name and address. I have also had at least 5 emails between myself and place settings trying to get refunds, always listing my full name, address and order number. Anyway, I have sent ANOTHER request for a refund with the order number as usual to place settings customer service and hope this now gets me results.
