After becoming a member of The LIterary Guild, I cancelled all monthly book selections but continued to receive books and was charged for them. The process of returning unwanted books is extremely cumbersome and must be paid for by the customer. The Literary Guild does not allow customers to speak to a live person in their customer service department, and they have not responded to e-mail requests for an explanation.
