Our nightmare with Chase began just this past month of June. My spouse and I fell behind on our mortgage two months, figuring we'll just send in extra money with the normal mortgage to get it caught up. Well Chase had other plans in mind. On June 6th we received a summons to appear for a foreclosure hearing. According to the letter we were behind approximately $3477.16. We contacted Chase immediately and asked what is going on well they informed us that because we were behind two months we're going forward with foreclosure proceedings. WHOA!! So we asked what if we sent in the money will it stop proceedings, we were told to send it in. So we mustered up a total of $4900.00 and mailed it off. To our surprise Chase did not credit this money to our account when we inquired as to why we were told because the home is undergoing foreclosure so they are forbidden to apply any money received. We searched for another lender to get us out from under Chase while this is going on Chase is still not crediting money. So now our credit report is showing delinquency and foreclosure even before I have had my day in court!! The lender we found could not help us because while chase was sitting on our money sent in they wrecked our credit standing with delinquent notices preventing any lender from helping us get away from Chase. We asked what could we do and spoke with loss mitigation they requested a hardship letter, copies of bank statements, w-2's, check stubs and any other vital documents they felt necessary. We sent them in and was told as soon as they are received a case worker would contact their attorney and request a stay on proceedings. Well we waited for a copy of the stay and even asked their attorney. We were then told that after we sent in the requested documentation it would take anywhere from 60 to 120 days to review and decide if we qualify for a restructured payment plan, here's the kicker the 60 to 120 days expires after the sale date set on the home which is November 26th 2008. So Chase has already found us guilty and set a sale date on our home and we havent even seen the inside of a courtroom to explain our side or plead our case.

Please at all cost DO NOT!!! do business with Chase mortgage.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

I guess the lesson to be learned here is twofold

AUTHOR: Jessica - Wahiawa (U.S.A.)

pay your bills on time

if you are unable to pay your bills on time, notify your lender immediately to let them know why not, and when you will be able to pay them..along with any late fees.

if you just sit there for a few months, they can and will take action you may not like.

Common sense? I'd think so, but I guess it bears repeating.

#2 Consumer Comment

I don't get it

AUTHOR: John - Califon (U.S.A.)

You admit to being 2 months behind. How is Chase allegedly screwing with your credit? You were 2 months behind. I fail to see the ripoff.
