I signed up with Lexington Law for $80 per month in August of 2010.

They immediately tell you that you'll need to be signed on with them for a year.  You can't have all your credit cleaned up at once because the credit bureaus will think that you cleaning up the lies on your credit report all at one time is "frivolous".  This seems insane.  Why not just clean up all your credit once and for all and be done?  Well that way they could only charge you for one month...maybe 2...and that's not enough for them...they need to steal more.

Even though none of the options that they suggested for disputing really fit my situation, I had to pick one.  I added my own information and situation in an email, which apparently, no one bothered to read.  This was an ongoing problem.  You could send email after email after email and you'd get some totally off answer.  When they're trying to get you to sign up at the $80 level, they say you can use them as a resource...ask them all kinds of questions and get information about your reports..., but they just flake off your emails and don't really read them.

I had already consolidated my credit before I signed up with them with Care One...this is also a mistake, but I won't touch that here.  So many of my debts stood as "resolved".  After dealing with Lexington Law, the debts I disputed show up on my credit report as "Disputed after being resolved".  Which to me is worse, and makes me look like an idiot.  I wasn't disputing the validity of the debts, but I was challenging the way they were represented, and the language used to describe the debts.

You'd be better off just ordering your own credit report, getting the information as to how to challenge your own credit issues from the different bureaus and writing specific letters about your specific situation and what you specifically want corrected to them yourself.  It's only AFTER Lexington Law starts charging you $80 per month, that they start to tell you that they can't do this and can't do that.  Many of the letters I had to print out and mail myself.  So why pay them $80 a month?  So they can lie to you about what they'll do for you and what they've done for other people.  There's no other reason.
