After making 57 payments on a 60 month auto loan, I became ill and unable to work. The payments in the contract were too much for me on my limited income, so I contacted Wells Fargo to re-negotiate the loan. They totally refused to work with me and informed me that I would have to pay the loan as originally contracted or they would reposses the car. After many more attemts at begging them to reconsider, they repossesed the car, leaving a handicapped senior with a bad heart, emphysema, and diabetes with no transportation. They get to sell the car (retail value $4500-$5000) to recoup the $1000 that I owed them. Oh, and they claim that I have been a valued customer. I bet I have. They have already made over $7000 in interest from me already.

JAMES, ISN'T IT INTERESTING HOW BANKS WILL WORK WITH SOMEONE WHEN....

AUTHOR: Karl - Highlands Ranch (U.S.A.)

THERE ISN'T ANY EQUITY IN THE CAR, BUT WHEN THERE IS EQUITY (AS IN YOUR CASE) THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO WORK WITH THE CUSTOMER?

If you only owed about $1,000 on the loan, and the car was worth $4,500 to $5,000, you would think that the bank WOULD have tried to help you, correct?

I'll bet if it had been a LOCALLY OWNED BANK, or a LOCALLY OWNED CREDIT UNION, you would have been able to work out some type of a plan, wouldn't you agree?

*Good luck to you!

P.S. Isn't it ironic that Wells Fargo received BILLIONS of dollars of TAXPAYER'S money from the government (TARP) when they were in trouble, but you couldn't get any help from Wells Fargo over an amount of $1,000?
