I have to say that I am pretty disappointed in the way the job has turned out. Yes, it looks good and the guys that worked on it were amazing in listening to our concerns, but there are a number of things that Ernest said would be done that weren't and even stopped his guys from working on it. For example:

1. Ernest said there would be two coats of paint on the main house. His explaination: "Backrolling IS the second coat." Backrolling does NOT count as a second coat of paint. Backrolling helps the first coat of paint to adhere to the house, but it does not substitute as a second coat.

2. Ernest said the fence would be primed and then given a second coat of paint. I watched (and he watched) as they sprayed directly to the original unfinished wood and then told me that this would be enough. Again, backrolling here also does not count as a second coat of paint. Also, not too much time later... that paint is now peeling up everywhere.

3. He said the doors would be primed and painted with a second coat of paint, and I watched as they painted one coat directly to the original unfinished door.

4. He originally told us that they do not work on Saturdays and Sundays, but then he had his guys working in 100+ degree weather Saturday and on into the night... because he had "another big job on Monday" you decided to have his men work late to finish our job. Thanks for the rush job.

His website says he prides himself on 100% customer satisfaction and I can tell you, we are most definitely NOT 100% satisfied. Yes, the house looks good but it could have looked much better. Who knows how long that will last.. a year? Two? Hardly worth the price. We went with Superior Painting because after bidding with a few other contractors, although his price was NOT the cheapest, we trusted him, his website, and his feedback reviews.

Well... here is an UN-100% review.

#1 Owner of Company

Drunk Customer

AUTHOR: Ernest Espinoza - San Antonio (United States of America)

Please be advised this customer had already started his exterior paint job by himself and a neighborhood friend. They painted on the screens, doors, window glass and had numerous runs on the exterior of the house. Basically, we were contacted to clean up a mess that was previously done by someone else. Once we started the job, the customer became belligerent to my crew and we noted he was drinking heavily during the day.  My crew receives instructions from me, not the homeowner. As such, during a drinking binge, the homeowner was under the influence and proceeded to direct my crew to do other jobs outside the scope of the contract. Due to the nature of the homeowner's attitude toward me and my crew, I felt it was in our best interest to complete the job as quickly as possible and move on. We did our work timely, efficiently and with meticulous care as we do with all our jobs. We painted his house as we normally would have painted any other house, including two coats of paint. This particular customer was trying to get work done without paying for extra work.  When I confronted him regarding his requests for the extra work and non-payment of same, he became very insolent and even used expletives toward me and my crew. We do not tolerate that type of behavior. We worked late through the evening in order to remove ourselves from what could have become a confrontational event.  Had the homeowner been so dissatisfied, he could have withheld payment. He did not and we were paid in full. Also, as a business owner, I have the right to refuse services to someone, if necessary.  We fulfilled our end of the business transaction and provided our services. I also challenge the homeowner to provide some sort of proof to indicate what he says is wrong with the job. I doubt he can provide anything to substantiate his claims. Further, if you read his report, twice he states the paint looks good. Here it is a year later, and this customer attempts to tarnish my repution with this type of slanderous report. However, I direct anyone to read my reviews and go to my website for further testimonials - it all speaks for itself.  As for the customer, I feel very sorry he felt he had to go through these measures to make himself feel good.  As much effort he put into trying to drag my name through the mud, he should make the effort to seek some type of help along the lines of alcohol rehab. Thank you. Ernest Espinoza
