I too purchased a cockalier from Happiness is Pets in November 2006 at the age of three months. The breeder was also Steven Kruse from West Point, Iowa. My dog has been in and out of the vet with multiple crystals in his urine and he may now have a terminal liver disease (discovered from his latest crystal). Please let me know if you have any information regarding what I should do to protect myself here. The cost of treatment will be unbearable.

Happiness is Pets reimbursed me for half of the dog and their vet said Happiness is Pets would continue to pay for treatment until he was 10 months old. Now the owner is claiming that was a mistake and they should never have been paying for anything. In fact, he threatened to back-bill me for his treatment from the last 4 months (the figure is insurmountable!). The tests to determine the liver problem range from $500-$1000! I would love to discuss this with the girl from Aurora who is having the same exact problem. Thanks!!
