Pets Plus Lawrenceville, Pets Plus Of Lawrence READ!!! sold visibly sick chinchilla the rest is very upsetting Lawrenceville New Jersey

On Feb. 13 2008 I Bought a Fancy Chinchilla for my wife to give on valentines day.Picked up on valentines day and noticed alittle fur missing below left eye.Trusted Pets Plus that since it was noticeable and sold to me it was no big deal.Well got home with it and read a care book about chinchillas I had purchased to realize it had a skin fungus that is expensive to cure, if it is even cureable.Also that it can be transmitted to other pets and/or humans.I called a few vets and was told best to bring it back being pets plus would not cover any vet bills.

Returned chinchilla Feb. 18 (4 days after picking it up)
My wife returned it in tears after talking on the phone to the rude and uncompassionate management at Pets Plus of lawrence. My money was refunded with hesitance.They said they would send back to breeder which meant that they had no intentions of seeking proper care for this animal, so it would suffer and eventually perish since this fungus is a progressive disease.

On Feb.19 my wife called to see if they had any chinchillas.they said they had one for sale. Very suspicious since as of evening before when I returned my chinchilla they had none.Maybe they put my sick chinchilla back out into store for sale for some other unsuspecting buyer.Called Animal control explained the situation they are on their way out now to investigate, waiting to hear back from them.

A web search of Pets Plus Lawrence brings up many other victims of this greedy, heartless place they call a pet store. I personally will never shop there again not even for a dog treat. I also urge all other prospective buyers of animals,foods,accessories,etc. to NOT patronize Pets plus of Lawrence. Where there are sick and diseased animals you will also find diseased and contaminated foods & supplies. Go to Pet Smart-- www.petsmart.com --they have locations in Hamilton, Lawrence, etc. They care very much for their animals and are vet inspected and cared for. Thankyou
